Transitioning to Emeritus Status
After 23 impactful years at UNMC, Kathryn retired but transitioned to an emeritus faculty role, allowing her to continue influencing the next generation of nurse practitioners. This transition reflects her dedication to education and her desire to remain active in mentoring aspiring healthcare professionals.
Community Engagement
Kathryn remains actively engaged in her community through her work with local health clinics, including the North Omaha Area Health Clinic and the Nebraska Urban Indian Health and Wellness Clinic. She believes in the importance of community service and encourages her mentees to engage with their communities, fostering a sense of responsibility and connection.


Lifelong Mentor
As a mentor, Kathryn is committed to providing guidance, support, and encouragement to newly graduated nurse practitioners. Her coaching program emphasizes the significance of mentorship, allowing emerging professionals to access her extensive knowledge and experience as they navigate the complexities of the healthcare environment.
